Last Thursday, students spent time catching their arthropods from their samples and we will be sorting and classifying the arthropods in class on Monday. The following class period will be dedicated to data processing, calculating the Simpson's Biodiversity Indices, and running T-tests between samples to determine if there is statistical significance between group's independent variables on the biodiversity of arthropod morphospecies at Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden. Finally, on Friday, students will spend some time learning about how plants and animals are classified through pairing up, researching a specific phylum of plants or animals, and presenting their research to their peers.
